This extremely pretty & feminine straw hat has a band and bow in delicate ‘Louise Loves’ fabric of pink rose blooms on a crisp white background. I have added a loop of pink satin vintage ribbon, and another tiny bow of sugar pink lace & finished with a pink flower shaped button.

Ideal for a Summer wedding, or maybe just sitting in the sun….(if we ever get any).. or perhaps even as decoration in the vintage bedroom on a dressing table or bed-post.

I adore this lady… she is completely hand made by me.
Her head and neck are turned wood, and her body is made from a pale peach linen.
Two frothy layers of fine scalloped vintage lace make up her skirt, which I have embellished with a spattering of tiny millinery flowers and diamante gemstones. The lace has had tiny areas of repair, but this would only be expected from something of such age & in my view enhances her vintage charm.

Her very chic silk bonnet is decorated on the crown with a cluster of tiny millinery flowers & a feather to match her bodice,

The exquisite bodice is made from an antique piece of French gold wire-work of considerable age, the colour is a beautiful aquamarine and the workmanship is perfection. Attached to her bodice is a cascade of trinkets from a central diamante flower.

On her tiny toes are a lovely vintage pair of silver & diamante buckles.

She is 27cm tall.

A pretty oval shaped box which I have covered in a vintage flower fabric from Germany. Shabby Chic millinery flowers in a faded pale lilac decorate the wide green Petersham rim.
This is the perfect little trinket box to enhance your vintage dressing table. 14.5cm x 11.5cm x 9.5cm tall.

 

I have lined this sturdy little rattan basket with a vintage fabric of pink roses & lilac coloured daisies – it is a very pretty delicate design on an off white background.
The basket itself is in excellent condition, I believe it to be 1950s or 60s as it has a strong melamine base.
On one side of the handle I have added a padded bow made from a vintage German fabric and embellished the bow with lilac ribbons, & vintage velvet and cloth millinery flowers. Nestling amongst the petals is a sparkly flower shaped trinket.
On the other side of the handle is a simple lilac velvet ribbon and a clear glass button.
20cm (8”) to rim x 38cm (15”) from base to top of handle.
Width 20cm(8”) x 36cm (14”) length.

This is a beautiful vintage Straw Hat by Bermuda Trend of London. I got the idea for this design from the Cath Kidston Summer brochure which faeatures a straw hat with fabric added on its’ cover. So I have added a 2” deep band & bow of Cath Kidston Rosali fabric and embellished these with pale pink roses & a vintage velvet sweet pea flower. A pretty pink diamante starburst vintage brooch nestles in the folds at the centre of the bow. This hat has a very shabby Chic boho look with its’ frayed rim which would look great for a summer wedding or by removing the brooch it becomes a sun hat for when we eventually get some sunshine

Some years ago I was given a book called 'Vintage Inspirations' by Jane Cassini & Ann Brownfield, which is my bible on all things pretty, vintage & original.

This doll is handmade by me, and my inspiration is the old fashioned Dutch doll featured on Page 100 of the book... take a look and you will be hooked too.

Her head and neck are made from turned wood and her body, arms and legs are cream linen painted with a lilac spot which matches the trim to her skirt and her waist flower.

Her skirt is a pretty piece of 'Louise Loves' fabric which, although crisp & new, has a timeless vintage look.  Her underskirt is a delicate piece af beautiful scalloped vintage lace of some considerable age, her collar is of the same lace.  A velvet and lace sash is adorned with genuine old vintage flowers.

 Her hair is styled from Mohair wool, and is adorned with a pretty sparkly tiara.

Around her waist is an old satin ribbon to which has been added a delicate & intricate piece of Ecru vintage lace & a lovely vintage Art Deco clasp completes her wardrobe.

This Shabby Chic Shaker doll is completely hand made by me from Balsa wood which I have hand cut to form a base for these adorable wall plaques.

I have perfected this design over many years  and have sold several variations of her through my retail shops and craft courses throughout the country.  This particular design has been the most popular, especially at Christmas when we embellish her with Fairy sparkle and Angel wings.... I know Christmas is a long way off,  but watch this space.......

She is dressed completely in pretty Cath Kidston fabric and has the obligatory Shaker heart attached to her pinafore. Cute fabric and jute bows adorn her fluffy pure wool hair. I have painted spotty red stockings to her gangly Shaker legs.

This Shabby Chic Shaker lady is 30cm tall and is complete with a loop for hanging, because she is very light she can just as easily adorn a cushion or rustic wreath. She can also be personalised with an embroidered initial for a special gift.... just ask me.

This set of two elegant cream & black boxes would enhance the look of any dressing table. I have decorated them with a cascade of pretty black vintage net to which has been added a 2 tone coffee & cream satin rose. The smaller of the two boxes comes complete with a delicate droplet pin brooch of black & diamante stones which would make a beautiful gift as well as a lovely embellishment.
The larger box is decorated in the same way and has a lovely pair of droplet earrings nestled in the folds of the rose.

This elegant 1930’s evening purse is champagne & silver coloured brocade in a flower pattern design.  It is tightly gathered under the silver metal & patterned hinged frame.  The interior is ivory satin with a tiny side pocket with a popper fastening.  There is a ‘Made In France’ label attached to this inner pocket.  It is in good Vintage condition for a purse of this age, with just faint even fading to the exposed areas of fabric. It has been adorned with a delicate bow of cream coloured Vintage lace of some age, and a round diamante pendant with chain tassels, it has two small stones missing, which in my view is hardly noticeable and does not detract from its’ charm.

Inside the purse I found a small cream visiting/calling card reading ‘Sir John Young, Bt.’

It measures approx. 6” x 4” & the chain is 10” in length
